I was going to wait till March to make my journal entry a yearly one, or at least February, but I did always want to try this skin on my journal, so...
I've been doing a lot of photography over the past year, particularly of birds, specifically herons. In the spring and summer I watched as they brought up fledglings in sycamore trees around a pond. The nests seemed to be arranged in such a way that any nest could be seen by all the other nests. On occasion I'd see an adult heron fly from their nest to a neighbors and then to another. I wish I got a picture of doing a flip and then barrel rolling to make a U turn, but alas I was too slow. They're a noisy bunch, like crows, but not, it's more of a guttural squawking. I remember walking up to a patch of plants that looked like they were plastered white, and wondering whether it was lime, or some other chemical used on farms... I had a fridge logic moment later where I realized exactly what it was, great white guano.
I'll be posting some photos soon, for real this time, unless earthquakes and/ or locusts, LOCUSTS! or other things that are not my fault happen
